My family and I attended the Georgia Dental Association Meeting at Amelia Island, Florida in late July and had an excellent trip. It was a great vacation for the family and I also attended several functions including our House of Delegates, which is the rule making body of the association.
Some of the highlights of the trip were a flounder gigging adventure with Captain Mac with www.floundergigging.com. We had a fun time, however, it rained extremely hard the afternoon before our trip and it made the visibility poor for part of the trip. We did get one nice sized flounder and several mullet. Captain Mac was an excellent guide and made it a lot of fun. We blackened the flounder and it was delicious.

Another highlight was the Country Fair at the GDA Meeting. It was a great event for adults and kids.

The kids really loved this. It has two large slides inside it.

This Matthew on a mechanical bull. He lasted about 10 seconds.

Jillian, Reece and Natalie Kate love face painting... and creamsicles..

Several dentists from our district competed in the GDA Olympics, which consisted of several country fair events like the three-legged race and we came in 2nd place, losing a tug-of-war to the Western district.
Here are some family photos from the beach and Fernandina Beach:
